WCG 09 France kicks off

The French WCG qualifier has just begun, with eight teams fighting it out for the berth in Chengdu.

Held under the auspices of the Festival du Jeu Videoat Porte de Versailles in Paris, the French WCG qualifier will begin with a group stage, followed by a bracket phase where there is very little margin for error as it is single-elimination played in best-of-one.

The group draw was made this morning and it put together a good-looking Group A, where Millenium, Ubiteam and eSport-Eu are expected to battle for something here.

In Group B, oXmoze and Dimension4, who will play this competition with two stand-ins, are expected to progress, but they will have to fend off the threats of se7en and shockwave.
